Hema Malini congratulates Deepika on her ENGAGEMENT

Hema Malini congratulates Deepika on her ENGAGEMENT  :

Bollywood’s dream girl Hema Malini sure did rustle a few feathers early in the morning on Twitter just a while back! Just when we were about to kick our mid week blues, we chanced upon seeing this rather SHOCKING tweet by Hema . It simply read, “Deepika, All good wishes on ur engagement! Pray God both of u have a bright future, happiness & joy in ur life together.” Gosh! we read this tweet and all kinds of crazy thoughts started running in our mind. Like Whoa, is the xXx star already engaged but how is it possible with her in Toronto and her beau (Ranveer Singh) in Paris? How come did we not have any INKLING about this matter? And most importantly, does Ranveer know about this recent development in his own relationship?

Sunny Leone Bats for Shelters

Sunny Leone Bats for Shelters :

Actress Sunny Leone is appearing in a new People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) advertisement headlined "Be an Angel for Animals! Adopt a Dog From the Street or a Shelter". Sunny wants to draw her fans' attention to the plight of dogs waiting in animal shelters for loving homes, as well as those suffering on the street. She knows adoption, not buying, is key to fighting the worldwide crisis of animal homelessness. "I believe in not buying - and adopting … because there are so many dogs out there (who) need a home, (who) were left on the streets", the actress said in a statement. "If you can rescue an animal, then that's one of the greatest gifts you can give somebody," she added. PETA and Sunny also promote sterilisation of companion animals. Sterilisation is a routine, affordable surgery that can prevent thousands of animals from being born only to suffer and struggle to survive on the streets, be abused by cruel or neglectful people, or end up in animal shelters. Just one unaltered female dog and her offspring can produce 67,000 puppies in six years. In seven years, one female cat and her offspring can produce 370,000 kittens. Sterilising eliminates the stress and discomfort that females endure during heat and greatly reduces the risk of developing mammary cancer. It also makes males far less likely to roam or fight.

during the launch of Movers & Makers:

desire to experiment in areas hitherto unfamiliar, Shaina NC probably gets from her charming mother Munira. Bang in her 70s, former sheriff Nana Chudasama’s wife decided to take off to Oxford for a short course in philosophy. Fashion designer, and now politician, Shaina follows suit, and this time her experiment is with writing. "I am not a hardcore author," she told this diarist on the day her book, Movers & Makers: The Making of Make in India Week 2016 was launched in the presence of actor Shah Rukh Khan (in pic) and CM Devendra Fadnavis, "but I like to write, and the foreword is straight from the heart." The coffee table title is a tribute to the week-long event held earlier this year, centering around innovation, design and sustainability. The book is her effort to chronicle the events and those committed to it, with a special focus on textiles. Shaina returned to her first love, designing, when she helmed an installation in collaboration with 25 designers to celebrate Indian textiles, with a finalé event paying tribute to Maharashtra’s star sari, the Paithani. "I felt, unless all of this was documented, we’d forget it," she said. Memory is a fickle thing, they say, and who knows that better than a politico.

Engineering Student In Mumbai

Engineering Student In Mumbai

In a strange incident which has left authorities puzzled, an academically bright 22-year-old student of Veer Jijamata Technical Institute in Mumbai suddenly went missing on Saturday (April 16), after she left home saying that she was going to the library. According to a Mumbai Mirror report, Manasi Puranik of Mumbai's Dadar area was about to appear for exams of the eighth and final semester of her engineering course on Monday, but she disappeared. Her classmates have formed groups to look for her across the city, and social media is abuzz with posts requesting information about her whereabouts. Manasi's father was at work when she called him and said that she was leaving the keys with the neighbours and was headed to the library. He did not find anything amiss since it was natural for a student preparing for exams, and is puzzled by what followed.  CCTV footage accessed by police show Manasi withdrawing money from a bank at 2 PM, and it doesn't seem she ever went to the library. The police have also recovered a letter addressed to her parents where she is asking parents to not wait for her return and take care of her sister. The letter mentions that Manasi felt she had disappointed her parents and was disappointed by herself as well. She also took some clothes with her.  The letter has confused everyone, since Manasi was a bright student and all rounder at college. With a high CGPA, she had already secured placement at Infosys in Mysore, and bagged a Rs 3.28 lakh per annum package, which she was looking forward to.

Vijay Mallya's Kingfisher House In Mumbai

Vijay Mallya's Kingfisher House In Mumbai

One of Vijay Mallya's flagship properties in Mumbai, Kingfisher House, is being auctioned online today.

The base price for the office at Andheri in Mumbai's western suburbs has been fixed at Rs. 150 crore.

The e-auction is being managed by an arm of the state-run State Bank of India, one of the 17 banks trying to recover at least a billion dollars loaned to Mr Mallya's grounded Kingfisher Airlines.

At least 15 offers are reportedly in.

The auction is taking place a day before Mr Mallya has been summoned for questioning as part of an investigation related to one of the bank loans.

Sources in the Enforcement Directorate, which has summoned Mr Mallya, say "it has to be a personal appearance, he can't send his lawyer."

Mr Mallya is reportedly in the UK amid attempts to recover over Rs. 6,000 crore loaned to Kingfisher Airlines, which stopped operating in 2012. "I am not an absconder," the businessman tweeted last week.

The banks had asked the Supreme Court to stop Mr Mallya from travelling abroad but the government told the court that he had left the country on March 2.

On a request from the banks, a court recently put on hold the payment of $75 million or 515 crores by Diageo to Mr Mallya as part of a settlement under which the liquor baron would step down as the chairman of United Spirits.

Ranked the 45th-richest Indian with a net worth of $1 billion by Forbes in March 2012, Mr Mallya is known to have lavish homes in Mumbai, Goa, Delhi and also London. His flamboyant lifestyle also features a fleet of luxury cars and a yacht.

Hema Malini says there is a dearth of opportunities for older actresses in Hindi films

Hema Malini says there is a dearth of opportunities for older actresses in Hindi films unlike in Hollywood, where quality roles get written for female stars of all ages. Malini, who has starred in more than 150 films during her glorious career, feels she can still play a variety of characters on screen but feels quality roles are hard to come by. “Internationally, such beautiful films are made with elderly actresses but that doesn’t happen here. They don’t want to invest money because filmmaking is too expensive so why would they risk it with me? That’s the problem… No one comes to me with (good roles),” the 67-year-old actress told PTI. “Meryl Streep is doing fantastic work. She is of my age. I can also do so many things but I need opportunities for that,” she added.

MNS chief Raj Thackeray raises Marathi issue again

MNS chief Raj Thackeray raises Marathi

issue again

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has urged party workers to take
to the streets, burn auto-rickshaws and keep pursuing the ‘Marathi’ agenda. Speaking at an event to mark 10 years of MNS on Wednesday, he alleged corruption in the purchase of 70,000 new auto-rickshaws in Mumbai for which the BJP-led state government is issuing permits. The MNS chief alleged that the BJP-led government’s haste in issuing these permits was to benefit a particular company that manufactures three-wheelers, each costing Rs 1.7 lakh. “I have been told that all Regional Transport Offices have been asked to issue 3,500 permits every day, saying the necessary domicile proving 15 years of residence in the state can be produced later. What is the hurry? I want to ask (CM) Devendra Fadnavis why this flash decision is being taken.”

He added: “I have told you what has happened. Now I will tell you what you should do. When you see any new rickshaws with new number plates, stop them, take the passenger and driver out of the vehicle and burn the rickshaws,” he said. According to Thackeray, almost 70-72 per cent of those who were issued permits were people from outside the state.
“The department concerned is headed by a Shiv Sena minister. We mean everything that we say about the Marathi manoos, unlike them. If they really cared about Marathi manoos, these permits would have all gone to Marathi boys and girls, and not outsiders. All they care about is the kickbacks,” Thackeray said.

He also hit out at the the judiciary in connection with the recent orders, including one which questioned the need for a 15-year domicile to get an auto-rickshaw permit and another which penalised MNS workers for illegal hoardings. He said judges should remain “within limits”. Recounting the party’s agitation against the railway recruitment process, he said, “Today, scores of Marathi people are employed in the railways because of our unions. Even you should keep your eyes and ears open. All these things that are happening are unjust. We will have to take up a lot of such issues. Sangharsh never ends,” he said.

Prior to the Lok Sabha polls, the MNS had tried to showcase a development-oriented, forward-looking agenda. But, it suffered a major rout in the Lok Sabha as well as the Assembly polls. The party has since been trying to stage a comeback. Thackeray is set to address a party rally on Gudi Padwa at the iconic Shivaji Park, rival Shiv Sena’s home turf.
“We will be playing on the home pitch after days and months,” Thackeray said. “Big personalities such as Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Amitabh Bachchan and Sachin Tendulkar have had bad patches in their careers. We will have our share of bad patches too. So, don’t give up. We must keep working,” he said.

Sunny Leone of southern Ontario went from adult films to Bollywood, How

How Sunny Leone of southern Ontario went from adult films to Bollywood

Unlikely story of a Canadian woman who became both an adult-film performer and a Bollywood star begins in the border city of Sarnia, Ont. Because that's where Sunny Leone was born. "Both my parents were born and raised in India, in the northern part of India, and they migrated to, actually, Sarnia," she told CBC Radio'sAfternoon Drive in a recent interview. Leone spent her childhood in the southwestern Ontario city. "I was born there...raised in this town," she said. "I had so much fun growing up there." Her family moved to the U.S. when she was a teenager, which is how Leone ended up in California. Thinking back to that time, Leone said she had no specific plans to speak of, or any inkling of where her life would take her. "For me, I always knew that I was going to own a business, I just didn't know what it was going to be," she said. "I never thought that modelling, or acting or any kind of entertainment was a possibility."
Leone said a meeting with an agent led to her appearance in a video by rapper Ja Rule, as well as some other acting jobs. Opportunities in the adult film industry followed. "It just kind of progressively happened, it wasn't something that I planned out," she said. Leone has a positive take on her time in the adult industry, though she acknowledges that her experiences are her own — and they may not be the same that many others have had. A few years ago, Leone was offered the chance to appear on Bigg Boss — a reality TV show that is broadcast in India. It is similar to the show known as Big Brother in some other markets. Leone said the TV show is broadcast across India and watched by millions of people. But she said its unique nature appealed to her as well. "It's new content every single day," said Leone. "Now, in the U.S., when I think of a TV show, there's not one TV show, except for the news, that provides new content every single day to the viewers." Her thinking on the offer was that if she didn't say, yes, she would probably be making "one of the biggest mistakes" of her life. That was a few years ago and Leone said "it turned out for the best."
