Shahid Kapoor has come a long way. The incredibly talented and irresistibly hot actor born on February 25, 1981 turned 35 on Thursday. As Shahid Kapoor fans celebrate their favorite idol’s big day, we cannot help noticing the gray side of his life. Despite being touted as talent powerhouse by the critics, Shahid has only few hits against his name. From being unprofessional to arrogant, several controversies show he is quite a Bad Boy of Bollywood.
Shahid has not just lived his romantic hero image on screen but also off it. From dating his first co-star Hrishitaa Bhatt to Kareena Kapoor Khan with who he had the longest relationship in showbiz industry, Shahid had been a busy man. His link-up stories with actresses Priyanka Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha, Vidya Balan, Anushka Sharma, Amrita Rao and Bipasha Basu has been a major talking point. Working with Yash Raj Films is a dream of every actor in Bollywood but Shahid Kapoor dared to tick YRF’s head honcho Aditya Chopra off. The reports of fallout dates back to the Shuddh Desi Romancedays when Shahid signed Maneesh Sharma directed movie but backed out citing the falling health of Maneesh. Sushant Singh Rajput was roped in place of Sasha. Another reason which came out as rift between Aditya and the 35-year-old actor was ‘asked to leave because he turned up for one of their rituals in a pair of shorts’. He had also refused to attend the reading and rehearsal sessions later. There are several instances in Shahid Kapoor’s long stay in the industry which reflected his ‘unprofessional’ behaviour openly. Shahid made Balaji Motion Pictures wait for two months before telling them on not being too keen on playing Chhota Rajan’s character in Once Upon ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara! His high headedness has been one of the reasons losing out on huge projects like Siddharth Anand’s Bang Bang, Karan Johar produced Gori Tere Pyar Mein. Not just renowned filmmakers and production houses, Shahid Kapoor is quite a character in not getting off well with his close friends as well. Director and friend Ken Ghosh who directed him in his first Bollywood movie Ishq Vishk was at receiving end during their third collaboration together Chance Pe Dance. Demanding to change lead actress from Jiah Khan to Genelia D’Souza with people stating stuffs like “Shahid took very long to complete Chance Pe Dance. The budget shot up and Ken had to shell out a few crores to compensate the producers.” Other major differences with friends included choreographer-director Ahmad Khan and actor-host Manish Paul also garnered major eyeballs.
